What would it mean if every at-risk teenager in Nashville had a place to go tonight besides the streets? A place to relax ....  safe from drugs and guns ... free from struggles of a difficult home life ... a place where their ideas counted and their actions were accountable?

How would a place like that change headlines? How would it change jails, homeless shelters, rehab centers and funeral homes?

How would it change the history of Nashville?

Galaxy Star Peacemakers
Galaxy Star Love Center is that place. Every day, it makes a difference in the lives on local teenagers. Galaxy Star director Clemmie Greenlee, along with Mary Horn Greenlee and Rodney Britton, don't take days off because the streets don't either. With meager resources, they stretch themselves to ensure every teenager they meet has a chance at a positive future.

Galaxy Star is a word-of-mouth wonder. Kids hear about the Love Center and drop by after  school. They come back with friends. For Back to Basics class on Monday nights, where they learn life skills they might not pick up at home. For Let's End the Violence Straight Talk on Tuesday nights, where those who've lost loved ones to violence share stories, grieve and search for solutions. For Lonnie Greenlee's Buying Our Community Back on Thursday nights, where teens and adults are inspired to start small businesses. For the Peacemaker Dance Team practice on Saturday afternoons. For Rodney Britton's effective and accessible Thuggin' for Christ ministry on Sundays. Teens come in and bring their friends. They call each other brother and sister; they take a pledge to leave violence behind.
